“Between flour, water, and salt, I find my essence and the ritual of creation that nourishes body and soul.”

I felt that my soul needed to reconnect with nature, bringing this connection into my daily life. I had always wanted to bake bread, but after a few unsuccessful attempts, I gave up. At this moment in my life, I decided to try again. It almost felt like an invitation, a calling to prepare this food so symbolic and spiritual. I took a rustic sourdough bread recipe and gave it a try, and voilà! The result was incredible. I felt happy and motivated to continue, and so I kept baking, learning, and discovering the magic of this universe.

Then I realized that the act of baking bread became a reunion with my pure essence, a connection with beginnings, with my ancestors, with my mother, with my feminine energy, with the power to create. Putting my hands in the dough, feeling the flour that comes from wheat, grown in fertile soil created by God, mixing it with water, of which is the element that rules our planet and nourishes the plants that provide us food and adding salt, a mineral essential for life that gives flavor to our food… all of this, combined with love, reveals the magic behind cooking. Alchemy happens: the careful and loving mixing of ingredients transforms into a beautiful, delicious bread that nourishes and brings joy to the home and family. I understood that a simple act of making bread can be a spiritual ritual of connection. A personal moment to create, like a laboratory, whose result nourishes my body, my cells, my temple.

Even if the first bread doesn’t turn out as expected, perseverance, practice, and trying again become part of the process. The aroma that rises from the oven awakens the appetite of the house and even the neighbors. Placing the bread on the table is an invitation to gather around it, to share.

If we stop to reflect, everything we do carries, in some way, a spiritual dimension. Understanding the meaning of each act is to live the spiritual side of our daily actions. The symbolism of bread goes beyond physical nourishment: it represents sustenance, prosperity, the presence of God, union, and sharing. Bringing this symbolism into our homes allows these meanings to be present in the family. It’s not just about making bread, but about feeling, understanding, and respecting the process. Unfortunately, in our fast-paced society, many practices with pure meaning and soul essence have been replaced by quick solutions that only meet immediate needs, disconnecting us from the greater purpose of life. Setting aside a day each month, a morning each week, or every two weeks for something that reconnects us with our origins and ancestors is to nourish and strengthen our soul. In this simple yet profound act, we find balance, purpose, and spirituality in our daily lives.
